First blog post. Here we go, I'll try not to bore you :)As many of you already know my name is Anna Christine Milder, Anna banana is what most people lovingly refer to me as though ;) I'm in my last year at Idaho State University and scheduled to graduate in may!! *Fingers crossed* I'm also a very girly girl. Anything that's pink, glitter, sequins, shiny, sparkly and I want it! But I, like many others am constantly broke college kid.... so I've had to improvise when it comes to my beauty products.  I have found many products that WORK, and I can actually AFFORD! And I want to share my findings with you!! :) But I digress: My heritage is Irish, German and Dutch, I like to refer to it as white white and WHITER... So therefore I don't have an ounce of that desirable "olive" or "Italian" skin tone that everyone is DYING to achieve. I know I'm certainly not alone out there! I do cheat and use the tanning bed about once a week, however I'm also a big fan of self tanners as well!! With every self tanner I try, I always shower and shave before then moisturize my face, elbows, knees, feet, hands, wrists and back of ankles.  

My first list will be of the BEST self tanners you can find!

1) My TOP pick right now is Fake Bake Flawless Self Tanning Liquid. It's a little bit on the higher end price wise but it's well worth the extra buck! I found mine at our local Ulta Beauty supply store for about $25.00 and I LOVE it! NOT and orange color at all! Very bronze!
It is a spray and comes with a mitt and plastic gloves to wear under the mitt. Initially it is VERY DARK, so don't be alarmed... but it helps to see where it needs to be applied. You'll want to shower the instant bronzer off the next morning as well.... or you'll look dirty. I apply this about once a week.


2) My second choice is Sun Laboratories Ultra Dark Self Tanning Lotion. This stuff is amazing! Good color that lasts about a week. But if you're into fitness and working out, like me, the first place it will start to wear away at is the inside of your elbows, and it looks silly... :( I bought mine at Ulta Beauty on sale for around $18, but it said it was originally around $35..... and I haven't been able to find it in our local Ulta Beauty store. However it is available on Amazon.com for about $12! Which is a STEAL! ;) The only thing I don't like about this tanner is that I needed to wash my palms about a million times after I was done applying! They will turn BLACK! This color is also a nice tan, not orange!
 

3) My third choice is Banana Boat Summer Color Self Tanning Lotion in Deep Dark Color. This stuff is awesome too! It's easily available and is super inexpensive! I found mine at Walmart for around $6 or $7!! It needs to be re applied about once a week but doesn't look orange at all! :)
 

Moving on to the WORST self tanners you can buy :(

1) My first choice is Ulta brand Tinted Self Tanning Gel in Dark. I was VERY disappointed in this product! 
:( I received almost no color and had to stand in front of a fan for 30 min, and it still felt tacky on my skin..... it NEVER dries! I hardly ever return products but this one was so bad, I did... It runs for about $8.99 in the Ulta Beauty stores but I wouldnt waste my time.. :( 


2) My second choice is Glow Head to Toe Self Tanning Towelettes Medium to Dark skin. It came with around 10 towelettes and I surprisingly had to use the entire box. It feels like rubbing rough baby wipes all over, and they don't stay damp for long. The color was almost non existent and I was not impressed at all! The smell wasn't great either. I found these at Ross Dress for Less on sale for around $2. I've also seen them on Amazon.com but they're terrible... don't buy these! :/ 

All in all when it comes to self tanners I suppose you get what you pay for comes into play.... Hope I could help! :)
